Kristyan has been appointed to the Yakima County Title 11 Guardian ad Litem Registry. She has served in this capacity since 2008. Since 2006 Kristyan has served as a guardian and co-guardian. She was appointed by the Washington State Supreme Court to serve as a Certified Professional Guardian in May of 2010.

Kristyan currently serves as a trustee and co-trustee as well. These services are offered in addition to geriatric care management services when there is a need of additional court supervision or supports.
